The Court Masters are once again offering a wide variety of junior and adult clinics at three area tennis clubs; Hamilton Tennis Club,  Dundas Tennis Club, and Ancaster Tennis Club.  Marcela and Mischa Mackesy have over 36 years of combined tennis teaching experience.  The Court Masters team is certified by Tennis Canada and/or The Professional Tennis Registry.  The Court Masters will again be running their one-day tennis tournaments series geared toward all levels.  New to the fold this year, is The Court Masters Competitive House League at the Hamilton Tennis Club.  This House League is open to members and non-members of the HTC.

Adult Tennis Clinics

The Court Masters offer adult clinics at the Hamilton Tennis Club, Dundas Tennis Club and Ancaster Tennis Club. You do not need to be a member to participate in these programs.  However, members will receive first priority and a discounted rate.  All sessions run throughout the spring and summer.  A ratio of six participants per instructor will be maintained.

Tennis 101
The Tennis 101 program is geared toward the total beginner.  In this program, you will receive instruction on the two basic strokes – forehand and backhand – with the goal of learning to rally consistently.  There will be considerable emphasis on hand-eye co-ordination exercises and basic body movements.  You will be introduced to the serve, volley, scoring system and the rules of the game.

Stroke Clinic
The Stroke Clinic is a perfect program for those people who have already been introduced to the game or are just looking for a refresher.  Each week a new stroke is analyzed and an emphasis is placed upon technique and rallying skills.

Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Drills
Drill clinics will be offered for different playing levels.  These drills will be constantly changing so we can work on every aspect of the game.  Types of drills include: fast-paced, controlled, teamwork, rhythm, as well as doubles and singles drills.  Drilling is a great way to improve the level of your game.

Endurance Tennis
Tennis for the Heart is a fun, group activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high-energy workout.  Each drill is designed to be fun, challenging and to get you moving.  Emphasis is on raising your heart rate into your aerobic training zone, not stroke execution.  If you are looking for a new way to get in shape and burn calories, you must try Tennis for the Heart.  Come ready to sweat!

Tenn-Fit Boot Camp
FRONT AND CENTER!  This group program is a high energy, sports conditioning class.  Core stability, balance, rotary power and interval training will be emphasized using the agility ladder, stability and medicine balls and resistance tubing.  If you want to sweat and increase your fitness level, this is the class for you.  Classes take place on the tennis court, but you will not need a racquet.

Recreational Junior Programs

Tiny Tots – Ages 4 & 5 years
This program familiarizes these young children to the game of tennis in a fun environment.  Emphasis in this program is developing hand-eye co-ordination.  Soft balls will be used to help make these new skills easier.

Munchkins – Ages 6-9 years:  mini-court program
This program is designed to increase hand-eye co-ordination and footwork.  The children are introduced to the four basic shots in tennis – forehand, backhand, serve and volley. These classes are delivered in a fun, light atmosphere where fun and learning are of equal importance.

Young Aces - Ages 9-13 years:  ¾ court program
This program designed as a great way for children to make the transition from mini-tennis to full-court tennis.  Proper grips and strokes will be taught with an emphasis placed upon ball control and rallying skills.  Students at this level typically cannot rally from the baseline or are just developing this skill.

Junior Stars - Ages 10-15 years:  full court program
This program is designed to develop the child’s full court game.  The children in this program typically have full strokes and can are able to hit overhead serves from the baseline.  They can rally and play games from the baseline.  The next progression would be to enter the competitive program.

Competitive Junior Programs

This program is ideal for the player looking to make the jump from a recreational player to a tournament player.  This is also geared towards players ready to take their game more seriously.  Students will be placed in smaller groups for more individual attention.  There will be a maximum of four students per instructor.  Emphasis will be placed upon stroke productions, strategy and fitness.  Drills and point play will be used in all lessons.
